Do you want to make a difference in your community and the world? If you do, the Chesapeake Rotary Club might be just the type of organization you're looking for. Our club is a diverse group of business and community leaders. Our club consists of doctors, lawyers, bankers, builders, educators, real estate professionals, printers, financial planners as well as people in many other fields of endeavor.
Rotary International is an organization of business and professional leaders from all over the world who unite to provide humanitarian service, promote high ethical standards and strive to build goodwill and peace in the world.
Rotary is an excellent way to become connected to your community and work with others to address community needs. We do this through a number of community service projects. One of our most ambitious projects each year is "Paint Your Heart Out." We schedule PYHO on a Saturday in April and organize several hundred volunteers to come together to paint and spruce up about 15 homes for needy or disabled residents of Chesapeake.
We also work hard to provide scholarships for our city's high school valedictorians, as well as for students with average grades who participate in our "Strive Program" in an attempt to achieve higher goals. We also sponsor many other projects both locally and around the globe that feed the hungry, furnish coats for needy kids, provide clean water, and improve the lives of orphans. And finally, Rotary International has as one of its primary goals-the total eradication of Polio throughout the entire world.
